FRENCH INVENTIONS & DISCOVERIES

In France, people use to say: "On n'a pas de pétrole, mais on a des idées!" ("We may not have petroleum, but we do have ideas!").

When I did my homework for this topic, I was amazed at how true it is!

Unfortunately many of French inventions and discoveries have remained unknown, mainly because their authors didn't succeed in selling their ideas and finding sponsors to achieve their concepts...

Did you know that the French invented the ambulance, the printed language for blind people called Braille, canned food, photography and cinema, quantitative chemistry, automobile, paleontology or the metric system -just to name a few!...
